We're live! Black Hat USA 2014 is officially off to the races.
We're thrilled to return to Las Vegas for our 17th year, celebrating the very latest in information security research, development and trends. This year's show will run August 2-7 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, with Trainings taking place from August 2-5, and our Briefings and Business Hall open on August 6 and 7.
Black Hat has always been driven by the needs of the security community – from the up-and-coming academics to the distinguished researchers, industry enthusiasts, InfoSec execs and everyone in between. Here's what you need to know about this year's show:

We'll be accepting talk submissions through April 4, 2014. Remember, Black Hat receives more than 500 submissions each year, each peer-reviewed by multiple members of our distinguished Black Hat Review Board, and we're committed to accepting the highest quality cutting-edge content once more this year – submit today!
Supporting the Community
While Black Hat has always given back fiscally to the information security community - thanks to its relationships with Black Hat trainers and its honorariums to regular Black Hat Briefings speakers - we also realize that students are a critical piece of the Black Hat community. They deserve every opportunity to learn and grow at our events.
Therefore, we're pleased to announce that for every Briefing accepted for Black Hat USA 2014, we will provide two student passes, including full access to Black Hat USA's Briefings free of charge, for that session's speakers to distribute to qualified students. (A shout out to our Review Board member, Jeremiah Grossman, for the inspiration!)
In addition, Black Hat has had a significant history of working with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), both as speakers and in providing pro-bono legal consultations around 'responsible disclosure' onsite. Taking it a step further this year, we're pleased to announce that for every new Business Pass sold, Black Hat will donate $100 to the EFF to support their important work, up to a maximum of $50,000. And we really hope we hit that maximum donation!
With these changes, we're really happy to give back not only to the academic community – the up-and-comers – but also to a non-profit that supports our distinguished speakers to share their research without as much worry - and does a lot more besides, in the name of electronic freedoms.
