Black Hat Student Scholarship Program
As a way to introduce the next generation of security professionals to the Black Hat community, we will be awarding complimentary Black Hat USA 2020 Briefings Passes to a limited number of student applicants. Each Pass allows full access to all Briefings at the virtual Black Hat event happening Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6.
In order to be considered for the Black Hat USA Student Scholarship, each applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of the event
- Must provide copy of verifiable proof of full-time academic status at an accredited college or university
- Must provide copy of valid and current college/university ID card
Terms:
- Failure to follow instructions will result is disqualification
- All submissions must be in English
- Students do not need to provide proof of enrollment unless contacted by Black Hat for potential award
- Passes awarded as part of this Scholarship program are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged or redeemed for any cash value
Black Hat Veteran's Scholarship Program
Black Hat is proud to once again provide scholarships for US Military veterans interested in attending the virtual Black Hat USA 2020 conference, August 5 & 6. Each scholarship includes a complimentary Full Briefings Pass and access to all areas of the digital conference.
If you are a veteran or will soon be transitioning out of military service, you are invited to apply for one of these scholarships. Winners will be chosen by members of the Black Hat Review board, based upon these applications.
EWF Scholarship
For the past 6 years the EWF has partnered with Black Hat USA to award 50 complimentary Academic Passes to female university students who demonstrate a passion for Information Security as well as a proven history of related experience and coursework. Each Academic Pass allows full access to all Briefings sessions for the digital Black Hat USA event on August 5-6, 2020.
COVID-19 Relief Scholarship
Black Hat will award a limited number of scholarships to individuals who have been impacted by the pandemic or who might otherwise find it difficult to participate. We know that many in our community are struggling with job loss, paycuts and myriad other challenges and our goal is to offer support where we can. Each scholarship will include a complimentary Briefings pass, which grants access to all 90+ Black Hat Briefings on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6, along with access to all recorded Briefings on-demand for up to 30 days after the event.
For those who would like to apply, the guidelines are below:
- One entry per person. You do not need to be a U.S. resident to apply.
- If you are awarded a scholarship, Black Hat will automatically register you for your Briefings pass.
- These passes are non-transferrable and have no cash value.
- If you have already purchased a pass to Black Hat 2020, you are not eligible to enter.

As a way to amplify the voices of black and brown practitioners in the Infosec community, Black Hat has partnered with Blacks In Cybersecurity™ to further the networking and development opportunities for the Black community in Cybersecurity. Black Hat has awarded complimentary Briefings passes for their members to attend this year's virtual event.
